Artist Bio
Sam Aquatic delivers a unique experience when she enters the stage for over a decade. They began their journey as a sideshow performer in New Orleans, before traveling to San Francisco to train with world renowned Mongolian Contortionist Serchmaa Byamba. They lived and trained intensely at the Cayuga Circus Center. As they started to develop solo and ensemble stage performances, they also began studying more avante guarde genres of dance, such as Butoh. Sam immersed herself in an intensive study with Natsu Nakajima who was one of the first female butoh dancers who studied under Ohno and Kazuo. Sam spent years curating collaborative shows, touring, teaching workshops, and eventually found herself working as a SAG AFTRA Stunt Performer specializing in creature movement choreography. She worked in motion picture such as American Horror Story Freakshow, The Walking Dead and Sleepy Hollow. Film work opened up a world of knowledge with motion capture and special fx. Between working in film and theatre, Sam found she loves making ideas into tangle works of art through movement and storytelling.
